Is a pastor accountable for the sins of people?
Question
I heard some Christians saying this among themselves the other day that they should obey their pastor, he is held accountable for them. Is this correct according to Islam?
Answer
Everyone is accountable for himself. Allah Ta`ala clearly says in the Qur'aan: "No bearer bears the burden of the next."
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
