Is it permissible to eat or drink while standing?
Question
Are we allowed to eat whilst standing? Is it makrooh or haraam or permissible? Same question for drinking water whilst standing.
Answer
It is makrooh.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

أخرج أحمد ومسلم والترمذي عن أنس عن النبي أنه نهى أن يشرب الرجل قائما قال قتادة قلت لأنس فالأكل فقال ذلك أشر وأخبث وفي الجامع الصغير للسيوطي نهى عن الشرب قائما والأكل قائما ولعل النهي لأمر طبي أيضا كما مر في الشرب (رد المحتار 1/130)
