Reverting to one's previous habit in haidh
Question
My sister went for umrah... She got her periods on 27 Oct and then it started again on 14 Nov. She has a habit of getting paak in 7 days.
1. How many days will be considered istihaaza?
2. If the bleeding does not stop, then when will haiz start and how long will it be considered as haiz?
Answer
The bleeding experienced from the 14th is istihaazah. She should follow her previous pattern of haiz and tuhr (the period of purity) e.g. if her previous haiz pattern was 7 days and her tuhr pattern was 20 days she will follow this pattern and regard herself pure for 20 days.
