Keeping the name Sanam
Question
What is the meaning of the name Sanam? Is it ok for me to have this name? In my culture it means "Beloved" but someone told me in Quran it means "statue" or "Idol". Please advise.
Answer
It refers to an idol.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
