Keeping the name Hayyat
Question
I would like to know if the name "Hayyat" is appropriate for a baby girl.
Answer
One meaning of hayyat is snake. Hence, it will not be an appropriate name to keep.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
