Iddah period for a woman whose husband had a vasectomy
Question
My cousin has been divorced from her husband and he has had a vasectomy many years ago. What is the fatwah on that regarding her iddah period (as the purpose is to determine pregnancy) and also, in regards to him seeing to her financial needs for the three months of iddah knowing that he has had a vasectomy and having the legal papers to show that he has had one?
Answer
She will sit in iddat for three haidh.
