Giving zakaat to one's poor friend
Question
I have a friend who is very poor. He lives in a small house on rent and has a motor cycle in his possession. His mother got admitted to hospital and her treatment is quite expensive which my friend can't afford out of his own pocket. My question is, can I give him Zakat for the treatment of his mother.
Answer
Yes.
