Fasting on Mondays
Question
Is there any truth to the claims that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) fasted on Monday because he was born on a Monday. If it is true, is it permissible to use this to say that one can celebrate his birthday?
Answer
At times Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would also fast on a Monday and at times he would fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th of the lunar month.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
