Who is liable for the children's medical costs?
Question
I would like to know if a husband has stated that all the costs for the children going forward needs to be split 50/50 between the parents, will he still be liable for payment that he has not contributed to even though it is for the children (e.g. medical aid costs that he has paid 50% of his share since the child's birth).
Answer
The father is liable for all the medical costs of the children.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
