Changing the name of the girl one wishes to marry
Question
A man wants to change whole name of a woman he wants to marry because he does not like her name. Is it legal in Islam to change the whole name of a woman before nikah and write a new name on the nikaah papers?
Answer
If the name is unpleasant there is no harm in changing the name, not the surname or the family name.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
