Question

1. Is it permissible to say that all Shia are Kaafir?

2. Is it true that one who doesn't say that all Shia are Kaafir is a Munaafiq?

Answer

The Shias that we know of believe in the distortion of the Quraan Shareef and reject the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum), like the Shaykhayn etc. Hence, whoever rejects the Quraan Shareef, believes in the Quraan being distorted and rejects the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) is out of the pale of Islam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
