The length of the Kurta and lungi of Hazrat Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)
Question
How did Sahaba/Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) use a long kurtha/and lungi whilst riding a horse etc?
Answer
The kurta worn by Hadhrat Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and Sahaaba reached slightly below the knee and the lungi they used to wear reached approximately half the shin. It is not quite difficult to understand how they rode horses while wearing kurtas and lungis of this length. The lungi worn in those days were not sewn as it is nowadays. Hence, it was easy for them while riding to spread their legs apart while the kurta was slightly lifted.
