Loving Allah Ta'ala
Question
I am feeling down these past couple of days. I know loving a person more than Allah is shirk. How does one know that he loves Allah more than anyone else? When a person is far from religion and doesn’t remember Allah, does it mean he doesn’t love Allah?
Answer
It is natural to love Allah Ta`ala more than any other thing. There are several signs for this love, like if your friend were to ask you to eat pork then you will refrain due to your fear and love for Allah Ta`ala.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
