Accepting the invitation of a person who is a recipient of zakaat
Question
Our maid servant collected money from different people for her son’s marriage. Some people gave her zakat money and some gave her interest amount and some gave donations. Now she has invited us for her son's walima. Is it permissible to eat the food of the walima?
Answer
Yes, it is permissible for you to accept her invitation. The food she will feed will not be regarded as zakaat.
