Borrowing goods from someone for the purpose of selling
Question
Is it permissible for a person to borrow goods from someone for the purpose of selling, and when he receives similar goods, he will replace the goods?
Answer
It is permissible for one to borrow goods for selling and to replace the goods later on, provided this is done with the consent of the owner.
Note: This ruling applies to those items that have an equal likeness i.e. zawaatul mithl (e.g. food items, utensils, clothing, etc.). This ruling does not apply to things that do not have an exact likeness e.g. livestock.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
