Lying in order to renew one's permanent residancy
Question
My friend has permanent residency (PR) but she does not live in the country in which she has the PR. She needs to renew her PR card now and to do that she needs to lie by saying that she satisfies the residency requirement to renew the card. Is this considered lying and punishable by God. Please advise.
Answer
We do not encourage it, though it is not haraam.
