The condition of the imaam leading the janaazah salaah
Question
Is it mustahab, sunnat muakkadah, ghair muakkadah or wajib for the imam who is leading the janaazah salaah to have a beard which is a full fist in length?
If the imam does not have a fist-length beard, is it permissible for him to perform the salaah?
Answer
It is compulsory for the imam to have a fist-length beard.
It is not permissible to appoint such a person to perform the Janaazah Salaah who shaves or trims his beard before it reaches one fist in length.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
