SalaahJamaat Salaah and ImaamatDistance between the Imaam and Muqtadis

Question

My home is very near to the masjid and the voice of the imam can be clearly heard in my room through the loud speaker of the masjid.

Can I join the prayer from my room as the imams congregation and qirat can be heard from my home? Due to the pandemic of corona the government has ask us to stay at home.

Answer

Being able to hear the imaam's recitation is not sufficient for the muqtadi's salaah to be valid.

The Fuqahaa explain that in order for the salaah of the muqtadi to be valid, it is necessary that he performs salaah in the same place where the imaam is performing salaah.

Hence, in your situation, since the place is different, you cannot follow the imaam from your home.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
