Using one's work computer for personal work if one has free time
Question
I am a government employee. I work on the computer. Often, there is little work and most of the time we are free. My questions are:
1. Can I use the Govt. computer and internet for further learning advanced technologies?
2. Can I use it for listening to Islamic lectures?
3. Can I use it for work with some other companies as most the time I have no work to do?
Furthermore, the internet service is free and does not incur extra charges.
Answer
If they do not mind you using the computer then it is permissible.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
