Meaning of Hadeeth
Question
Are the stories in Fadhail e Aamal and Fadhail e Sadaqaat considered Hadith? Can we say that these are Hadiths?
Answer
Hadeeth are the statements of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) or his actions and his affirmation. The other stories are either experiences of pious people, Tabieen, etc. They should not be called hadeeth.
