Question

Is saying Aameen after Surah Fatiha in namaz correct? Someone had written that saying Aameen invalidates the salaah.

Answer

When one is performing salaah individually, then after completing Surah Faatiha, it is sunnah for one to recite aameen. Similarly, if one is performing salaah behind the imaam in a jahri salaah, then when the imaam completes Surah Faatiha, it is sunnah for one to say aameen softly. The statement of the person that reciting aameen in salaah invalidate the salaah is incorrect.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
