Businessman receiving a gift from a client
Question
We are a few partners working in a business and each of us look after a few clients. At the end of the year, one of the clients I deal with gives me a gift (as is commonly done in the business environment as I deal with him alot during the year). I would like to know if the gift belongs to me or the business?
Answer
If he gave it to you specifically then you may take it as long as it does not affect the interest of the business, such as you then offering him a discounted price because of his gift.
