Making zikr and salawaat before picking up the janaazah
Question
Should we do zikr and salawaat before picking up the body to take for the salaatul janaazah?
Answer
The sunnah is that the family should not delay in performing the janaazah salaah and burying the deceased. However, while arrangements are being made to take the body for the janaazah salaah and burial, people can individually engage in zikr or the recitation of the Quraan Majeed. This should not be done collectively.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
