Spreading bad news
Question
Is it true to say that one should not spread bad news even it is in the public domain and true?
Answer
When there is no need and there is not going to be any virtue in spreading bad news then why should you spread the bad news. Sometimes the bad news may be gheebat and backbiting, sometimes it could be exaggerated and sometimes the intention may be wrong, and all these amount to severe sins.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
