Mother spending daughter's money without her permission
Question
I'm the daughter, married and have a baby but still live with my parents as they won't allow me to get my own house.
My mother takes my bank card and spends without my permission nor tells me how much she spent. Is this allowed in Islam? Or is it theft.
Also, she leaves my card in her pocket and now my brother spent nearly £600 without me knowing.
Answer
If your mother is not poor and needy, then it is wrong for her to use from your wealth without your permission. Similarly, it is not permissible for your brother to spend from your wealth against your will. To prevent this from happening in the future, you may close this account with the bank and open a new account with a different card.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
