Woman working as a nurse
Question
I am a Muslim woman who is training to be a nurse. I was wondering if it is halaal to work as a nurse. I will have to work and have contact with male patients. The work clothes are also not completely covering, so men can see my arms.
Is the money I get as a nurse halaal? Should I continue studying as a nurse or switch to another career?
Answer
We do not at all encourage women leaving their homes and working in such dangerous environments where their reputation and chastity may be compromised.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
