Maintaining the beard
Question
Do we have to keep a beard which is a full fist or half of it and how do we have to maintain the beard as per Islamic law, can we apply oil on it.
Answer
Growing the beard till a fist length from all sides is waajib for men. Cutting and trimming before it reaches a fist length is impermissible.
2. Yes. It is preferable.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

ولا بأس بنتف الشيب و أخذ أطراف اللحية والسنة فيها القبضة ... ولذا يحرم على الرجل قطع لحيته (الدر المختار 6/406)
