Zakaat on deposits paid
Question
Please advise regarding security deposits paid to the municipality or landlord. Do I include it in calculating my assets for nisaab amount? How would this affect the receiving or payment of Zakaat?
Answer
Precaution demands that it be added to the zakaat calculation.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
