Wearing purdah when going to work during iddat
Question
I am getting a divorce and wanted to find out, the fact that I need to continue working.. is it compulsory to wear a parda doing my iddath period while going to work .. or is following the rules of hijab (such as scarf and loose abaya sufficient)?
Answer
Purdah is obligatory at all times, not only when you are in iddat. In the period of iddat a woman is not supposed to go out, but if you are forced to then you must avoid any type of makeup or anything that will enhance your beauty.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
