SalaahMethod of SalaahConcentration in Salaah (Khushoo' and Khudhoo')

Question

I am 72 years old and I have a problem with concentrating in namaaz. I know it is not permissible to read namaaz with your eyes closed but at the moment I concentrate better with my eyes closed. Please advise me how to overcome this problem.

Answer

Performing salaah with one's eyes closed is against the sunnah. Hence, you should not close your eyes when performing salaah. To get better concentration in salaah, then during the recitation, keep your mind on the words you are reciting.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
