Entering a competition that has a minimum purchase from a store
Question
I went to a shop to purchase some items. I intended to only purchase for R300. However, I saw that they have a competition to win a car. In order to enter the competition, one will have to purchase for a minimum of R500. Will it be permissible for me to purchase more items just to enter the competition?
Answer
This does not seem right as it has resemblance with gambling.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
