Using one's discretion to determine the qiblah
Question
I was travelling to Durban and stopped in Harrismith to make Zohr. On my was back I stopped again to make Zohr, and was told after I completed my salah that I was facing the wrong direction. I am not sure if the brother was correct, but do I need to repeat my salaah?
Answer
If there was nobody to find out from and you used your discretion to determine the qiblah then your salaah is valid.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
