Haaji pelting on the 12th morning before zawaal
Question
This year while performing hajj, the Saudi Government directed the pilgrims to start performing the 12th dhul hijja rami after Fajr due to excessive heat and overcrowding to avoid any untoward situation. So, we performed the rami before zawal on 12th dhul hijja.
Is my hajj acceptable or do I need to perform anything to compensate for performing rami before zawal? Are there any rulings or views of scholars on performing rami before zawal?
Answer
The pelting on the 12th morning before zawaal was not valid. Hence, since the pelting of one day did not take place, you will have to give one damm.
The damm is that you should slaughter one goat or sheep (which suffices for qurbaani) in the precincts of the haram in atonement for the pelting that was missed.
