Reciting an aayah of the Quraan Majeed in the qa’dah of salaah
Question
If a person recites an aayah in qa’dah, will sajdah sahw be compulsory upon him?
Answer
If one recites an aayah in the first qa’dah, then he will be required to make sajdah sahw, regardless of whether he recited the aayah before reading the tashahhud, during the tashahhud or after the tashahhud.
As far as reciting an aayah in the second qa’dah is concerned, then if he recited the aayah before reading the tashahhud or during the tashahhud, then sajdah sahw will be compulsory. However, if he recited the aayah after reading the tashahhud, then sajdah sahw will not be compulsory.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
