Pretending to be an actor

Is it permissible to roleplay? Like pretending or playing as a certain/made up character alone or with others?
Answer
Producing movies or looking at movies is haraam. Hence, it is not permissible for one to pretend to be a movie actor or movie star. This is an extremely serious sin for which one should make taubah.
Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said the one who imitates a people (e.g. in a sinful deed) will be counted from among them (in the sight of Allah Ta‘ala). (Sunan Abi Dawood #4033)
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
