Musallees mistakenly going into ruku after imaam recites an aayat of sajdah in salaah
Question
If the Imaam in the Haram reads a sajdah aayat in maghrib, and the musallees not knowing the imaam went into sajdah, instead go into ruku, and thereafter they join the imaam again in the remainder qiraat, is the salaah of the musallees valid?
Answer
Yes, their salaah is valid.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

وفي النوادر: ولو قرأ الامام السجدة فظن القوم أنه ركع فبعضهم ركع وبعضهم ركع وسجد سجدة وبعضهم ركع وسجد سجدتين، فمن ركع ولم يسجد يرفض ركوعه ويسجد للتلاوة، ومن ركع وسجد فصلاته تامة وسجدته تجزئه عن سجدة التلاوة، ومن ركع وسجد سجدتين فصلاته فاسدة لانه انفرد بركعة واحدة تامة اه. وذكر في الخلاصة في مسألة الكتاب لا تفسد صلاته هو الصحيح بناء على أن زيادة سجدة واحدة ساهيا أو سجدتين لا تفسد صلاته بالاجماع، وإن كان عمدا فكذلك. وإن ذكر في الجامع الصغير أنه يفسد عند محمد وذلك ليس بصحيح. ذكره الصدر الشهيد في المبسوط اه.
