Question

A boy turning 12 years in a week, refused to shake hands with non mahram women. This caused a problem within the family as the father feels humiliated. Now he is forced to apologize to them and shake hands thereafter. What is the right age for a boy to stop shaking hands and to lower his gaze and please advise what should he do now?

Answer

It was not right for the boy's father to force his son to shake hands with the non mahram. When a boy reaches the age of 12 lunar years, many laws of a baaligh person apply to him.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
