Question

I earn a decent amount of salary to take care of all the basic necessities of myself, my wife and 3 kids. At the end of the month I don't have any money to save for extra expenses. My wife is at home and does not work.

We applied for a sassa child grant for all my kids after they were born. We put aside that money for each of them every month separately. Alhamdulillah these savings have accumulated.

My son and daughter both need myobrace treatment as their jaws are not fully developed and their teeth are not growing straight. Can we use their sassa savings to go ahead with the myobrace treatment as I don't have money to pay for this treatment for them? The cost for each child will be approx R12k.

Answer

Yes, the money of each child should be used upon the child.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
