Eid gifts
Question
I noticed that people are giving "eid gifts" in the same way as the non muslims are giving "Christmas gifts". Is this a practice of Nabee (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) or an innovation? I can not remember any such custom when we were children.
Answer
Giving gifts and expressing happiness on an occasion of happiness is not against the Shari`ah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
