Distributing Zakaat Throughout the Year
Question
When welfare organizations receive zakaat money in the month of Ramadaan, can this money be kept to fund all the cases they receive throughout the year and then bring this amount to nil by the following Ramadaan or has the money to be disposed this month and if so how does one support the cases.
Answer
It can be used throughout the year.

وشرط صحة أدائها نية مقارنة لأدائها للفقير أو وكيله أو لعزل ما وجب ولو مقارنة حكمية كما لو دفع بلا نية ثم نو والمال قائم بيد الفقير
و قال الطحطاوي : قوله ( أو وكيله ) أي وكيل المزكي فيصح ولو دفع الوكيل بلا نية أو دفعها الذمي ليدفعها للفقراء جاز لأن المعتبر نية الأمر در (حاشية الطحطاوي على مراقي الفلاح ص715)
