Reciting Qur'an around the mayyit
Question
In front of mayyit can we read qura'an? In India people sit in front of mayyith and read qura'an.
Answer
After the mayyit is given ghusal, people while seated around the mayyit can recite Qur'an.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

تكره القراءة عنده حتى يغسل وعلله الشرنبلالي في أمداد الفتاح تنزيها للقرآن عن نجاسة الميت لتنجسه بالموت قيل نجاسة خبث وقيل حدث (الدر المختار 2/ 193)
قال الشامي : قوله ( قيل نجاسة خبث ) لأن الآدمي حيوان دموي فيتنجس بالموت كسائر الحيوانات وهو قول عامة المشايخ وهو الأظهر بدائع وصححه في الكافي (رد المحتار 2/ 194)
