Hadith Question
Question
There is a hadeeth in Muntakhab Ahaadeeth under the section of dawah that I do not understand (hadeeth no. 9). It is as follows:
ان الله لا يعذب العامة بعمل الخاصة حتي تعمل الخاصة الى أخر
Answer
The Hadith means that Allah Ta'ala will not punish the general masses on account of the wrong doings of a certain group unless the sin openly takes place and the people do not object to the sin, despite having the ability to do so. Hence on account of the general masses abandoning their Deeni obligation (i.e enjoining the good and forbidding the evil), they will be taken to task by Allah Ta'ala.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
