The date of birth of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)
Question
Is there any authentic Hadith about when Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) was born? I have heard many different dates from a lot of people.
Answer
There are different opinions regarding the date of birth of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), however, the most preferred opinion is that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was born on the eighth of Rabi ul Awwal.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

وكذا اختلف أيضا فى أى يوم من الشهر: فقيل إنه غير معين، إنما ولد يوم الاثنين من ربيع الأول من غير تعيين، والجمهور على أنه يوم معين منه. فقيل: لليلتين خلتا منه. وقيل: لثمان خلت منه، قال الشيخ قطب الدين القسطلانى: وهو اختيار أكثر أهل الحديث، ونقل عن ابن عباس وجبير بن مطعم، وهو اختيار أكثر من له معرفة بهذا الشأن، واختاره الحميدى، وشيخه ابن حزم، وحكى القضاعى فى «عيون المعارف» إجماع أهل الزيج عليه، ورواه الزهرى عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، وكان عارفا بالنسب وأيام العرب، أخذ ذلك عن أبيه جبير.
