Using Deodorant etc. While Fasting
Question
1) When one is fasting, is one allowed to use: a) deodorant and perfumes containing alcohol denat; b) lip-care; c) and body lotion?
2) If a woman's period appears during her fast, does she have to break it or to go on fasting until iftaar time?
Answer
1. Yes.
2. She can break her fast.

( إذا أكل الصائم أو شرب أو جامع ) حال كونه ( ناسيا ) ... ( أو ادهن أو اكتحل أو احتجم ) وإن وجد طعمه في حلقه ... ( أو بقي بلل في فيه بعد المضمضة وابتلعه مع الريق ) كطعم أدوية ... ( لم يفطر ) جواب الشرط (الدر المختار 2/394-400)
ثم ذكر أحكامه بقوله ( يمنع صلاة ) مطلقا ولو سجدة شكر ( وصوما ) وجماعا ( وتقضيه ) لزوما دونها للحرج ولو شرعت تطوعا فيهما فحاضت قضتهما خلافا لما زعمه صدر الشريعة بحر
و قال في رد المحتار : قوله ( ولو شرعت تطوعا فيهما ) أي في الصلاة والصوم أما الفرض ففي الصوم تقضيه دون الصلاة (رد المحتار 1/290)
