Reciting while listening to the Qur'an
Question
If I know a Surah of by heart but play a recording of it whilst reading (to make sure I do not make mistakes), will my Tilaawah (e.g. of my night Surahs) be complete?
Answer
This is incorrect. The tilaawat must be done with focus. You cannot be listening and reciting at the same time. The Qur’aan has a right that you listen to it attentively, and listening to it attentively means that you remain absolutely silent.
