Whose responsibility is it to look after the children?
Question
Is child custody obligatory on the mother if she is still married to the husband? Or is it the husband's duty to provide a nursemaid? What if the husband is poor?
Answer
Both the parents need to look after the children. Custody is to both of them.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
