How does one protect against the evil eye (nazar)?

“Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah states that it is permissible to remove Nazar by reciting verses of the Quraan Sharif on chillies and thereafter burning the chillies. “The harms of the evil eye can materialize even if the actual body has never been sighted. Pictures also attract the evil eye. One should avoid displaying one’s pictures and guard himself by reciting the duas for protection every day.”
