What the Darul Iftas say
“It is impermissible (Makrooh Tahrimi) to consume horse meat. The reason for its prohibition is not due to the meat being impure. Consider the following text:”
“Saahibayn Rahimahumullah are of the opinion that it is permissible to consume horse meat. Imaam Abu Hanifah Rahimahullah is of the opinion that it is Makrooh. Thereafter, there was a difference amongst the Fuqahāaa regarding what type of Karaahah was meant.”
“It is makrooh to eat horse meat and drink horse milk. However, marrying a person who eats horse meat is permissible.”
