Is insurance permissible?

“Life insurance policies are Haraam as it is based on interest, gambling and uncertainty (Gharar). Make Taubah and Istighfaar for your mother for engaging in Haraam dealings. There are severe warnings cited in the Mubarak Ahaadith for engaging in interest-bearing transactions and contracts. See below:”

“Life insurance is totally prohibited under Islamic Law as has elements of gambling and interest as defined by Islamic Law and both these have been prohibited in Quraan-e-Majeed with severe warnings. (Fataawa Mahmudiyyah Vol. 16 Pg. 391).”

“At the outset, it is important to note that all forms of conventional insurance are prohibited and unlawful in Sharīʿah, due to the inherent uncertainty they entail.”

“Insurance is haraam as the elements of qimaar (gambling) and riba (interest) are found in it. When this is haraam, then it is not permissible to assist them for this purpose. Through assisting them, you will in some way be condoning this wrong and assisting them in haraam.”
