What should a woman do if her menses start during umrah or hajj?

“1. In the state of haidh, it is not permissible for a woman to enter the musjid. Hence, it is not permissible for a woman to make tawaaf of the Ka’bah Shareef in Musjidul Haraam in the state of haidh.”

“In principle, if your haidh has completed, you should take a bath, go to the closest Meeqaat and enter into the state of Ihraam. By returning to the Meeqaat, the Damm (penalty) which is to sacrifice a goat or sheep in the Haram area for passing the Meeqaat without Ihraam will fall off. You should then perform Umrah.”

“In the enquired situation, if you are in the state of Ihraam in Makkah Mukarramah and you experience Haidh (menstruation), you should wait until your Haidh terminates and then you should continue with your Umrah and Tawaaf etc. as a women in Haidh is not allowed to perform the Tawaaf of Umrah etc. in the state Haidh.”

“If a female experiences Haidh after commencing her Umrah, and does not get the opportunity to complete her Umrah (due to her lengthy Haidh) and the time of departure arrives, then she should try to delay her flight for a few more days so that she is able to complete her Umrah and then leave.”
